London 2012 Summer Olympics Travel Diary

Day 4: London Sightseeing II

Today’s plan was some more touristy activities.  We hopped the tube back to Westminster and went to the Churchill War Rooms.  We lost Abby’s attention for a bit during the middle, but at her age- we expected that.  Staci and I really enjoyed the museum and definitely recommend it to anyone visiting London.  After the War Rooms, we tried to find a pizza place that Yelp recommended, but it ended up being closed.  We found a Tesco Express, grabbed some sandwiches and sat down by the Thames River for an outside lunch.  We coordinated the next day’s plans and headed over to the HMS Belfast. Abby asked for to visit the Belfast and I was really happy to oblige.  After taking the tour, we decided to head home ahead of the rush hour crowds and grab an early dinner.  Before dinner we walked up to the Hyde Park Olympic Store and bought some souvenirs.  We hit an Indian restaurant in Knightsbridge across the A4 from our flat and then treated ourselves to some gelato before calling it a night.
