March Madness Road Trip Diary

Day 12: Los Angeles to Las Vegas

  • 250 miles
  • 4 hour drive

It was Easter morning and we were both a little bummed to be away from home.  Abby also had a bit of an upset stomach, so Easter Brunch was much more low key than either of us anticipated.  The server at the Hilton noticed Abby was only eating dry white toast and water and didn’t charge us for her breakfast.  He also made sure that there was white bread out for her to make her own toast when she was ready. Disaster avoided and we ended up having a relaxing time.  After brunch, we checked out and started the drive to Las Vegas.

I-5 is a very pretty drive through the desert.  Once again, there was so much we wanted to see!  ‘Next time’ seemed to be the phrase of the trip.

We made it to Las Vegas with plenty of time for dinner.  Abby was feeling better and asked for a ‘breakfast dinner’.  We stumbled on an IHOP and I couldn’t believe when she had never eaten at one before.  After dinner there, we headed to the airport and got settled for the red eye home. We were lucky enough to both get upgraded to first class (a few days prior via my frequent flier status), so it was a nice and comfy seat for the ride to Philly.
